Vignetting is a reduction in image brightness or saturation at the periphery compared to the image center. It's a common issue in photography and optics, often appearing as a darkening towards the corners of an image. Vignetting removal, therefore, is the process of correcting this optical imperfection to achieve a more uniformly exposed image.
